McKIBBON HOTEL MANAGEMENT INTRODUCES AVION PARK WESTSHORE WITH THE OPENING OF TOWNEPLACE SUITES BY MARRIOTT

(TAMPA, FL – 06/26/08) Tampa-based McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc.’s much anticipated AVION PARK WESTSHORE will welcome its first guests on Friday, June 27, with the opening of the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Tampa Westshore.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott has 122 rooms featuring studio, one and two-bedroom floor plans.  Geared toward the mid-priced extended stay business traveler and weekend leisure segment, the property offers spacious rooms with separate areas for living, working and sleeping; fully-equipped kitchens; plush bedding sets; complimentary high-speed internet access; and flat screen HDTVs.  The hotel is pet friendly, and also features an exercise room, guest laundry and outdoor heated pool. 

“We have worked very hard on this project, and the opening of this TownePlace Suites is truly a milestone for our company,” explained CEO John McKibbon.  “Avion Park, named after my father’s first motor lodge in Gainesville, Georgia, will provide guests with outstanding convenience and service, with hotels, retail, restaurant and office space, creating a vibrant, walkable destination.”

The TownePlace Suites Tampa Westshore is situated in the heart of the dynamic Westshore Business District at the corner of Spruce and O’Brien Streets.  Across the street from the Tampa International Airport and International Plaza Mall, the property is conveniently located within minutes of downtown Tampa and St. Petersburg, and easily accessible to Pasco County via the nearby Veteran’s Expressway.

The property is managed by General Manager Abel Bohorquez, who formerly managed another McKibbon property in Tampa, the TownePlace Suites Tampa North.  Abel is a member of the Westshore Alliance and Tampa Chamber of Commerce.  Angela Maurer will serve as the property’s assistant general manager.
